The Owens Corning Duration asphalt roof shingles have a patented woven nailing strip that strengthens the nailing area. Because of this technology, only 4 nails are required to meet the 130 MPH wind requirement here in the North East. Still, local code is to install the shingle with 6 nails. Adding 2 more nails makes this shingle 30% stronger than the competitions!
So not only is the shingle strong, but it’s thick, and it lays flat during installation.
Bucci Roofing LLC only uses conscientious roofing crews. Our crews are respectful to our customers and our customer’s property. We make every effort to protect your home and your landscaping while on the premises. Our crews are fast as well. In the summer months, our crews can strip and re-roof up to 30 squares in just one day!
When speaking to potential customers many times the amount of knowledge most people have about their roof is limited and if you think about it, there’s a very good reason why. Roofing materials are made to last a very long time so very few homeowners are thinking about replacing their roof and the components included until it finally goes bad. At this point, I find that homeowners are now often franticly trying to educate themselves on today’s roofing materials and how they should be installed. They are also looking into roofing contractors hoping to find one that they can trust. Bucci Roofing LLC will explain the entire process to you from start to finish so that before we strip off the first shingle you’ll know as much about roofing and roofing installation as we do!
Depending on the size of your home the roof could potentially be the largest investment so you ever make so you must dot your I’s and cross your t’s by asking important questions before choosing a roofing contractor…
1 – Make sure that the contractor you choose has a registered business license with the state and carries liability insurance. If the contractor subs his work to another roofing company, make sure the company doing the work also has liability insurance. This way you won’t have to worry if a worker gets hurt on your property. Everyone is covered.
2 – Many folks like the referral method. I do too. Chances are that if a contractor did a fine job on your neighbor’s house then they will most likely do the same for you right? Not necessarily. What if the contractor uses a different crew on your roof than the one that was on your neighbors’ roof? What if they’re not as conscientious as the crew that was on your neighbors’ home? Be sure to thoroughly check out your potential contractor. Call the RI, MA, or CT contractors’ registration board and see if your contractor has had any customer complaints in the past. Review them on the Better Business Bureau. Read the comments to see if there is consistency with this company’s work and to make sure their customers were satisfied. Google reviews are yet another way to check up on your local contractor.
3 – Ask if the roofing crew will be supervised while replacing your roof. These days the Spanish language is prevalent among roofing contractors making it difficult for folks to communicate if something seems wrong. Ask if the supervisor will be able to answer any questions that you may have from the beginning of the project until the end.
4 – Be wary of storm chasers. Storm chasers can show up on your doorstep from almost anywhere in the United States. If the wind or hailstorm was big enough to justify their time they will come. Unfortunately, many come from out of state. Think about what you will do if you have a problem with your roof after the crew is long gone. What if your contractor came from the Midwest, do you think they will be back to fix your leak? I highly doubt it. If you have wind or hail damage to your roof call a local roofing company – Call Bucci Roofing LLC!
